Two Tourism Management students from World Citi Colleges (WCC), under the School of International and Hospitality Management (SIHM), recently completed a semester-long international exchange program at Seneca Polytechnic in Canada, marking another milestone in WCC’s global education initiatives.
Pierre Nicola Sanchez and Jannah Pableo Chanchico were selected through a competitive screening process and were awarded the Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development (SEED) Scholarship, which was sufficient for a semester-long stay in Canada. They joined a group of students from different parts of the world.
During the exchange, the students were immersed in Seneca’s student-centered and industry-driven learning environment, engaging with international faculty, collaborating with multicultural peers, and gaining first-hand exposure to global practices in tourism and hospitality management.
“It was such a wonderful experience,” Pierre shared. “This exchange program has truly been a blessing, and every effort we made to be there was worth it.”
Further highlighting the impact of the program, Jannah earned special recognition after winning Seneca’s Program-Wide Sustainability Competition for World Tourism Day. Her winning submission, inspired by her experience at Masungi Georeserve, emphasized the role of tourism in conservation, indigenous rights, and responsible travel.
WCC extends its sincere appreciation to Seneca Polytechnic for warmly hosting and supporting WCC students throughout the program, and for providing a rich, inclusive, and globally relevant learning environment that made this international experience truly meaningful.
The successful participation of Pierre and Jannah reflects WCC’s commitment to internationalization and its mission to develop globally competitive, socially responsible, and future-ready graduates—empowering students to learn beyond borders and thrive in the global tourism industry.
