WCC Students Explore Marine Conservation at BFAR’s 63rd Fish Conservation Week

Students of World Citi Colleges (WCC) gained firsthand exposure to marine and coastal conservation initiatives as they participated in the 63rd Fish Conservation Week organized by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) at its Central Office from September 14 to 18, 2026.

Carrying the theme “Lusay, Korales, at Bakawan: Yaman ng Karagatan, Masaganang Buhay ng Pamayanan,” the national observance brought discussions on the importance of seagrass, coral reefs, and mangroves closer to students, highlighting how the protection of these ecosystems is connected to fisheries, food resources, and coastal communities.

For the participating WCC students, the activity extended learning beyond the classroom by providing exposure to how a national government agency promotes the conservation and responsible management of the country’s aquatic resources.
